Polish
London-based choir Kameralny Zespól Wokalny z Balham will be performing at an
exclusive London event designed to celebrate the memories of loved ones cared
for by Sue Ryder Care.
Sue Ryder
Care’s Lights of Lovegives people
the opportunity to celebrate someone special and remember them at Christmas
time. Events have been taking place at the leading healthcare charity's shops and
care centres across the country throughout December and next week the lights
will be lit on London.
The event is
to be led by Songs of Praise presenter, Pam Rhodes and is being held in the Church
of St Anselm and St Cecilia, Lincoln’s Inn Fields from 7.30pm on Wednesday 17
December.
Event
organiser Andy Nakonecznyj is encouraging people to attend the free event, he
said:
"Lights of
Love is a way to treasure memories during the festive season and reflect on
what loved ones have meant to you. You’ll be
joining with other people remembering someone special to them and you’ll be
able to enjoy the festive season having shown how much they meant to you."
Sue Ryder Care’s founder Lady Ryder of Warsaw enjoyed a long association with Poland.
Poland was the first place where Lady Ryder built a care home in Konstancin
in Poland, followed by homes in England, and the charity works in partnership
with the Sue Ryder Foundation in Poland to this day.
Andy added: "Lady Ryder's name is still associated with 14 hospices, social home and
oncology units throughout Poland. We are thrilled that Kameralny Zespól Wokalny z Balham are able to celebrate our
relationship with Poland at this event by performing traditional carols. We do hope you will be able to
attend and help make this a memorable event."
