Celebrating the 200th birthday of Polish classical composer and pianist Frederyk Chopin, Radio ORLA.fm hosted not one, but two, English-language programmes this spring about the man's life and works.
Below, we provide two halves of those recent shows.
In the first programme, on 21 March 2010, Iwo Zaluski, the great great great grandson of another famous Polish composer who influenced Chopin's works, Michal Kleofas Oginski, came into the studio to talk about his new book "Chopin's Europe", while Marek Gulbicki, a member of the BBC Symphony Orchestra, offered his insights into Chopin's works.
On 4 April 2010, it was the turn of Iwo's writing colleagues on "Chopin's Europe", Hanna and Juliusz Komarnicki, to pop into the studio, as well as British-born Polish actor Roman Stefanski, who revealed he has just recorded voices for an audio instruction manual for visitors to the new Chopin Museum in Warsaw.
