While Poles are preparing for a Presidential election on June 20, some in Britain are also expressing their political convictions. An online opinion poll finds that the Liberal Democrats are first choice for Poles. The poll puts Liberal Democrats, currently the third-largest politcal party in the UK, on 34 percent, the Conservatives in second place with 27 percent, and Labour a hot third with 26 percent. Other parties command 11 percent. A total of 353 people had taken part in the online poll by 17:00 GMT on May 5. The question asked was: "If you could vote in the next general election, which party will you vote for – Conservative, Labour, Liberal Democrat, or some other party?" The poll says it is part of Channel 4 television's election coverage on The Alternative Election Show and wants to know who Polish people, living in the UK, would vote for if they were eligible to do so. The UK General Election takes place on May 6 and only British passport-holding Poles will be able to vote. But all Poles living in the UK are eligible to vote in the local elections also taking place the same day. The poll and its latest findings can be found at: http://www.misterpoll.com/polls/481999
