Thousands of Poles filed into the Our Lady Mother of the Church
on Windsor Road, Ealing in west London on Saturday for the blessing of baskets. In them were eggs, pisanki, bread and even potatoes. With the panorama of Jerusalem, Poles queued to kissa bronze statue of Jesus Christ while many clutched their baskets. The annual event takes place on the Saturday before Easter Sunday when Jesus Christ was ressurrected from crucifixion. The Ealing church is probably the most famous Polish Roman Catholic church in the UK.
